We cut down and pulled up some bushes along the side of our garage so we could plant a vegetable garden.  We planted beets, carrots, spinach, lettuce, tomatoes, yellow cherry tomatoes, zucchini, red, green and yellow peppers, corn, green beans, sweet peas, strawberries and lots of herbs (some in planters). Yes, that is MAdeline and Ellie, they are wearing some fun wigs our friends gave us.

On Saturday we enjoyed a lovely Seder dinner at our dear friend Susan's home. On Sunday after church - the Easter bunny came, the girls are still young enough to enjoy a good egg hunt! Ellie lost a tooth - and now LOOKS like the Easter bunny.  Later that evening, we had Easter dinner at the Thatchers. Wonderful weekend.

Unlike last Spring break, where we spent most of it swimming at the beach - this year was cold, even with some snow flurries! We did a "Movie Night" theme this year. Madeline invited all the girls from 3rd grade and only 6 couldn't come!  Christian set up the projector and we hung a big sheet up and they watched a movie on that.

I was taking a box of Korean Pears out to the back deck to keep chilled and as I was setting it down, I felt this thing starring at me.  I looked up and nearly had a heart-a-tack! Some friends won a raffle for lunch and shopping at the American Girl store in Manhattan, and gave them to the girls, we had a lot of fun.  They had tea cups for the dolls, the food was delicious,  the decor was fabulous.  Just sad we don't have a picture of Christian and his doll!

Spanky is the dog we got when we were first married.  When we moved to NYC, our apartment was way to small for such a big dog, so, my parents adopted him. He is such a great dog!  So he is 11 years old now, and his Dr. says he has a heart condition, with a few more years to live.  So sad!!

I was tucking my kids into bed, and as I fluffed up Ellie's pillow for her to lay down, (she regularly tries to hide toys under her pillow.)  I found a box.  "Ellie" I said, "You know that you aren't suppose to hide toys under your pillow."  She says, "but mom, its my learning box."  How can you get mad at that?

We went to the Blossom Festival at Branch Brook Park, http://newark1.com/branchbrook/ it was the last day, so most of the trees were sad - on there last leg, parking was a pain and the weather wasn't helpful, as Madeline said the clouds were "stratus clouds". Besides all that, I think we had a really nice time.  Next year I'll make sure to go at the peak!
